What is Osteopathy?
Osteopaths are trained to detect and treat damaged parts of the body. They specialise in finding and treating the cause of the problem, where possible, and not just the symptoms.
Osteopathic treatment involves a variety of gentle manual techniques that are aimed at restoring mobility, relieving pain and promoting overall health. Over half the patients presenting to Osteopaths suffer from back pain, however other conditions which may be suitable for treatment include arthritic pain, colic, disc problems, frozen shoulder, ‘growing pains’, headaches, hip pain, joint pains, lumbago, muscle sprains and strains, neck pain, pre and post-natal postural pains, sports injuries, sciatica, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, ‘trapped nerves’, tension, work related strains and whiplash.
At Sunnycroft, we use both Structural and Cranial techniques to treat all ages of patient and are happy to be consulted on all of the above. If you are unsure whether you are a candidate for Osteopathic treatment, please get in touch.
